Our Story
A shared aspiration that, over the years, became a space dedicated to the Heart, to transformation, and to spiritual life.
Hridaya Romania – Kamala Center
Hridaya Romania – Kamala Center
Our story began with friendship, spiritual aspiration, and the trust that life can be lived in beauty, in truth, and in closeness to God. From this call Kamala Center was born, and later Hridaya Romania — a place where yoga practice, meditation, and everyday life meet in the light of the Spiritual Heart.
From a shared aspiration
After the changes of 1989, we met and became friends, united by the same spiritual aspirations. We felt that a human being can be more than what they seem to be, and that through sincere practice the body, the mind, and the soul can be transformed.
We believed with our whole being that life can be lived more deeply — with joy, with meaning, and with openness to the everyday miracle. Yoga had already revealed its transforming power to us, and it had become the foundation on which we could unite our aspirations, fulfill our dreams, and help others discover the beauty and sacredness of existence.
At the heart of this search was the trust that true transformation is not only the result of personal will, but is fulfilled through opening to God — understood beyond concepts and religious definitions, as the living Essence of being.

Milestones along the way

In the same year, Kamala Publishing House is founded. It publishes valuable works on yoga, spirituality, natural therapies, and personal development, including the teachings of masters such as Ramakrishna, Anandamayi Ma, Ramana Maharshi, Nityananda, and Buddha.

TodayA home of practice and community
Hridaya Romania offers silent meditation retreats, Hridaya Hatha Yoga, 200- and 300-hour teacher training courses, and seminars. The center continues to be a space of practice, of maturing, and of meeting in the Heart.
The return to the Heart
The encounter with the Hridaya vision brought a natural deepening of the aspiration that had animated Kamala Center from the beginning. Spiritual practice was no longer understood only as a way of personal harmonization and transformation, but as a direct path of recognition of our Essence — the Spiritual Heart, Atman.
Hridaya Yoga invites us to open to the non-dual reality of being, to discover the Stillness from which all thoughts and experiences arise, and to let this recognition transform everyday life.
Through Hridaya Meditation, the question “Who am I?” asked with wonder, contemplative Hatha Yoga, and the cultivation of Witness Consciousness, practice becomes a return to what is always present: the freedom, the love, and the fullness of the Self.
“Hridaya is not only a system of practices, but an invitation to live from the Heart.”
A path lived together
Returning to the Self
Through meditation, Self-Inquiry, and contemplative Hatha Yoga, we open to the Stillness and wisdom of the Spiritual Heart.
Integrating spirituality into everyday life
We aspire for practice not to remain separate from life. Relationships, work, challenges, and simple gestures become opportunities for presence, love, and maturing.
Support, friendship, and openness
We believe in the power of a community united by sincere aspiration. Each person is respected in their uniqueness and encouraged to discover their own living relationship with the Heart.
The story continues through each of us
From the first meetings of a few friends moved by the same aspiration to the Hridaya community of today, the guiding thread has remained the same: the wish to discover what is authentic, sacred, and imperishable in the human being.
We look with gratitude to all who have contributed to this unfolding — founders, teachers, karma yogis, students, and friends of the center. Through their practice, their dedication, and their presence, Hridaya Romania continues to be a living space of the Heart.
You are invited to join us — not only to learn a technique, but to explore together a more conscious, freer, and more loving way of being.
